Younts, Alice Elizabeth Betty McCaskill age 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wedensday December 17, 2014. Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on December 6, 1926, she was the loving daughter of the late Own Allen McCaskill and Lydia Virginia Carter McCaskill.
Betty married her high school sweetheart, Ralph A. Younts, upon his return from World War II in 1945 where he was held as a POW in Germany for 9 months. They began a wonderful life and journey together in the United States Air Force for 22 years until his retirement as Cheif Master Sergeant McCoy Air Force Base in 1965. Ralph, the love of her life preceded her in death in 1981. Betty dedicated and proud Air Force wife who enjoyed being stationed at numerous bases in the U.S. and in Japan, cultivating a lifetime of experiences and wonderful lifelong friends. She will be remembered for her tireless energy, work ethic, love of adventure and the outdoors, her cando spirit, being a wonderful cook and homemaker and especially her selfless generosity to others. She was a long time member of Maranatha Fellowship Church and shared the love and fellowship of her friends there.
Betty was a wonderful, devoted. loving mom to her three children and will be deeply missed. She leaves them a legacy of warm and treasured memories and we thank God He chose her to be our mom. She is survived by her two daughters Judy L. Pirkle Randy of Altamonte Springs, Florida, Susan L. Hill Dale of Canton, Georgia and her son Ralph A. Younts, II of Orlando, Florida. Five grandchildren affectionately called her Sammy: Jenny Tischer Chet, Tammy Wiggins Darrell, Ryan Pirkle Jenny, Annie Ledford Marcus and Emily Dean Pace. Her six great grandchildren include: Abbie Tischer, Lee, Lucy Jane, William and Susan Wiggins, Ashby Dean and Finley Ledford. She is also survived by her siblings she so deeply loved: Nancy Autry, Lydia Cox Emmett, Margaret Carpenter and David Lee McCaskill Margaret Ann all of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Two brothers preceded her in death: Owen A. McCaskill, Jr. Betty and Bascom W. McCaskill Jonice. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. We would also like to thank the wonderful Vitas Hospice Team 194 for their loving care and kindness to mom during her illness.
Visiation for Betty will be held at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home on Saturday, December 20th from 1 to 3 PM, with graveside services immediatley following at Glen Haven Memorial Park Cemetery , 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, Florida, 32816 ast 3:30 PM
