Adelina Rodriguez, age 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Cornerstone Hospice in Orlando. From her birth in Havana, Cuba, on February 22, 1940 to her death on Tuesday she nourished people around her with love and compassion. Adelina emigrated to Washington D.C. in 1958 where she met and married Zacarias. In 1969, she and Zacarias, along with their three young children, moved to Orlando, Florida. She earned certifications in keypunch operations and COBOL landing her a position in the accounting/bookkeeping department at SunTrust. She worked at SunTrust for almost 40 years and was loved and well respected by all her co-workers. Left to honour Adelina and remember her love are Adelina's three children, Alina (Aziz) Virani, Edwin (Kay) Rodriguez, and Ana Margarita Flowers; five grandchildren; Anis Virani, Anisha Virani, Alexander Flowers, Alavi Virani, Vanessa Flowers; two great-grandchildren: Alysia and Maia; and many nieces and nephews. Adelina was preceded in death by her husband, Zacarias. Adelina will be remembered for her giving and compassionate nature. She was always ready to help those in need. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6200 S Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32809. A potluck reception will follow at the Social Hall at St. John Vianney. Burial will then follow at 2:00 pm at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Dr, Winter Park, FL 32789. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13 at the Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Rd, Orlando, FL 32806.
